Barrel Project - 2022
Last year Greg G. got a 50 gallon whiskey barrel for his birthday and decided to use it for making something special with the club. We settled on an imperial stout. 5 club members volunteered to brew for it. We got together last month and settled on a recipe. With an OG of 1.104, many of us were pushing our systems to the limit, some of us had to double our boil times to get close to the target. The brews are all fermenting now and we will fill the barrel October 16. We’ll start sampling in February, keg most of it, bottle some of it when it’s ready. Here are some pics of the journey so far.
