Spring is in full swing and brewing season is heating up!
Our March General Meeting this past Thursday featured an Irish Red tasting and gauntlet in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Thanks to everyone who came out and brought their entries!
The monthly happy hour is this Friday at The Raven Cafe was another great time. Next up is Friday, April 24th at Prairie Patio by Wren House Brewing — no agenda, just show up and hang out.
Important reminder: The April gauntlet is wood-aged beers, so if you haven’t started yet, time’s running out! This one requires advance planning, so get those barrels, chips, or spirals working. The April meeting on the 16th will also feature a Saison recipe discussion — perfect timing for spring and summer brewing.
Get your entries ready for the Lazy G Brewhouse Pro-Am Competition! This is a members-only competition open to AHA and WRBC members. The winner will have their beer brewed and served at Lazy G Brewhouse, and it will be entered in the Great American Beer Festival Pro-Am competition. Entries are due at the next meeting. If you need to enter a little late, talk to John A.
Mark your calendars — National Homebrew Day is coming up in early May, and we’re planning a brew day at Wren House, let us know if you want to brew, even if you don’t have the equipment!
Sloshball is May 16th! . It’s Kickball with mandatory beer-in-hand rules, homebrew on tap at second base — what could go wrong? Members only, details TBD.
